About me

Tizzie has worked in Education for over 20 years in a variety of roles, including teaching ESOL and English, managing and developing programmes for disengaged youngsters and more recently teaching English and assessing Dyslexic learners. She currently works as an Academic/Support Tutor  for Neuro-Divergent students in her local University and as a Creative Writing lecturer on the Writing for Children module.

Her love of writing -and writing about writing and fellow writers- led her to her founding the @SCBWI_BI #scbwichat where she got to chat all things writing and books with authors, agents and publishers and she is a Feature Writer for the online Words and Pictures magazine. She has worked with Writing West Midlands (WWM) as an Assistant Writer and Spark Young Writers groups and with schools in Warwickshire to write stories for the Wicked Young Writers Award. Tizzie is also part of the Teachers 204 development  programme by WWM and is a parent governor with a focus on Literacy at a local secondary school.

It is her passion for reading and writing that prompted her to develop Creative Writing Workshops for schools and start the Mighty Writers Club. It was important to her to provide a Young Creatives Club Hub, where Young Writers, Readers and Illustrators can explore, learn, share and grow.

Tizzie enjoys writing for children in education and both fiction and non-fiction. She has completed a number of  Middle Grade and Young Fiction stories and is currently working on a detective series, a fantastical creature series about The Hairies set in Huntsman Wood and a story about Delilah Doolittle and her imaginary animals, alongside a number of exciting non-fiction proposals- so watch this space!

Please contact me if you would like any more information about workshops, school visits or the stories I am writing.
